The Signal

The Signal initially began to coalesce in an all-night computer lab at Georgia Tech. Sheridan and Florrie both had sires with strong ties to the institute, and got comfortable there even before they were formally acknowledged by the Prince; Adam showed up to take advantage of the cutting edge computer technology available. They discovered some shared goals and interests, and the nucleus of the coterie was formed. Shortly thereafter, Adam recruited his broodmate Brett. Nalole and Maxwell started hanging around a little while later, as they were both drawn to the tech-savvy nature of the rest of the coterie and the location.
Most of the coterie members don’t have strong feelings about the Camarilla, simply accepting it as the local authority and preferring to spend their time ignoring it in favor of more interesting goals. Two such goals are widely and openly discussed: the coterie seeks information about the Clockwork Dream and the Danforth Archive, although the various members have different reasons for pursuing those goals.
When the elders of Atlanta need help dealing with an increasingly complex technological society, they sometimes tap The Signal for their expertise in such matters. As more computers get connected to the world wide web, and thus more information and power becomes accessible to those who can navigate the digital domains, the strength of The Signal will grow. Members of the coterie sometimes say that mastery of the burgeoning information superhighway will be absolutely critical to maintaining the Masquerade in nights to come.
